A man named Belal Hossain of thirty was killed during air force firing exercise at Sualok union of Bandarban district. The deceased is son of Md. Mohammad Hossain.
Bangladesh Air Force is doing their scheduled firing exercise of heavy weapons in that area. Fighter jets are firing on their dummy targets on ground. Belal Hossain was killed on spot when a fighter jet fired at that firing range. Police have recovered his dead body and sent to morgue for autopsy.
Locals have said that, the area is a restricted area during firing exercise of army and air force. But many poor people often intrude there to collect bamboo, wood and broken metal shells after firing; this is why casualty is common in that area.
