Drone is banned in Dhaka

In a recent press release Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned drones in the capital. Speaking to the media DMP officials have said, it’s not a new directive. Flying drones without prior approval from Civil Aviation Authority is already banned according to Bangladeshi law. If someone needs to fly drone in the capital’s sky they have to take permission from Civil Aviation Authority first.
Why this press release is issued now, replying to this question DMP official said, in recent days they have noticed some people are flying drones for aerial photography. In some cases drones have entered in restricted areas, which are very embarrassing. Moreover in some countries drones are being used for criminal activities. DMP officials are claiming, drones with camera have privacy issue also, because it may fly over your lawn.
The officials are claiming drones may cause panic and restrictions on drone will ensure safety to the city dwellers. But you can flay drones with permission if required.
Use of drones in the capital has increased in recent years. Photographers and professional film makers are using drones for aerial photography. So now those photographers and film makers have to wait for approval from Civil Aviation Authority.
