Lamiya’s mother, Firdausi Akhtar, who teaches at a private medical college in Khulna, said that around 9:00 am on 18 August, around 20-25 people barged into her residence in Nirala area of the city.
Lamia, who returned home from night duty, was forcefully taken into a car. He has two children aged seven and two and a half years. The small child, who is dependent on breast milk, is crying continuously. Lamia’s family tried to contact CID Dhaka several times but they were not told anything.
Lewis’s mother Makulet Sarkar said that on 18 August at around 3:00 am several people barged into their house and were identified by the CID. They said they had come to arrest Lewis in connection with the question leak. However, they could not produce any arrest warrant. Lewis was at his maternal uncle’s house nearby and they took Lewis’s father, Badal Sarkar, to the house to receive him. Lewis’s family has not known his whereabouts since then.
Sharmistha’s father Deenbandhu Mondol said that on August 18 at around 9 am, four people including a woman entered their house. Sharmishtha was sleeping then. The personnel revealed themselves to be CID and picked him up, but did not give a reason. Sharmistha’s family contacted the Dhaka CID bureau and learned that their daughter was there.
