Health and education sectors neglected in revised ADP: Concern over declining allocation

Allocations to health and education sectors in the Annual Development Program (ADP) in Bangladesh are relatively low. However, experts say the increase in allocation to both these sectors would be considered an investment in the country's future. Like developed countries, many developing countries allocate more funds to these two sectors.

Prothom Alo recently ran a report titled 'Education, health sector allocation reduced in revised ADP'. We are concerned about this. Sources in the Planning Ministry's Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division said the size of the revised ADP was reduced by Tk 180 billion due to slow progress in project implementation, while the allocation to the education sector was reduced by Tk 120 billion and the health sector by Tk 50 billion. ,
