Migration is an intrinsic part of human history, often overshadowed by sensationalist narratives.

However, the reality is much more nuanced than what makes the headlines.

Most migration is regular, secure and regionally concentrated, directly linked to opportunities and livelihoods.

Yet, misinformation and politicization have clouded the public discussion, making a clear and accurate portrayal of migration dynamics essential.

IOM's World Migration Report, with its innovative digital tools and comprehensive analysis, aims to help dispel myths, provide important insights and inspire meaningful action in addressing the challenges and opportunities of human mobility.

The launch is part of the IOM Director General's first three-day visit to Bangladesh.

The report launching ceremony was attended by IOM chief of mission in Bangladesh Abdussattor Essov, former foreign secretary Shahidul Haq, senior government officials and diplomats posted in Dhaka.
