Nottingham boss Steve Cooper said conceding a late goal was the worst way to lose.

“Especially in a fought game. We came up against a really good team and we knew it would probably be like this,” he said.

The result left Forest in 14th place in the standings, two points adrift of the relegation zone.

“When you’re in the position we’re in, every point counts,” Forest midfielder Jonjo Shelvey told Sky Sports.

“The way the boys dug in deep, we deserved to get something out of the game. But it wasn’t meant to be. We dust ourselves off and go again.”
