The Prime Minister vowed to build a developed, prosperous and smart Bangladesh by 2041 while maintaining the status of a developing nation facing all odds.

“Due to the practical steps taken by my government, Bangladesh has changed in the last 14 years,” he said.

Sheikh Hasina said that her government has plans to construct three metro rail lines – MRT Line-1, 2 and 4 passing through Narayanganj district.

He said that the feasibility study of the proposed MRT Line-2 (Gabatoli-New Market-Signboard-Narayanganj Sadar) and MRT Line-4 (Kamalapur-Signboard-Madanpur of Narayanganj) is underway.

The Prime Minister also said that his government aims to develop Purbachal as a smart city.

Mentioning that more than 40 development projects are underway in Narayanganj district, including a project through which the Narayanganj Link Road is being upgraded to six lanes, he said, “We want to make Narayanganj district a smart city. Because it has a great importance for us.”

Noting the ongoing trend of high inflation around the world stemming from the Russia-Ukraine war, sanctions and counter-sanctions, he called for frugality in the use of electricity, furnace oil, water and other resources amid the global crisis.

“We are managing everything. But, we need your (people’s) cooperation to overcome the crisis.

He said that if you fail to show frugality and save, Bangladesh may face trouble in future as it is not certain when the Russia-Ukraine war will stop.
