Twenty five patients of a cardiac ward of Chittagong medical college hospital were evacuated for five and half hour yesterday. Because that ward was used as examination hall of medical college students. There were only three examinees of Doctor of Medicine, final.
Specialist doctors came to see the patients who were on the corridor. But the patients alleged doctors didn’t examine them properly.
In fact the capacity of the word is 52, but generally they need to accommodate more patients. Even yesterday the ward had 160 patients. 25 of them were asked to stay outside.
Departmental head defended this evacuation saying, it is need to ensure that the examinees are not talking with each other and to do that they need some space.
Some new space will be allotted for the hospital within the next three months, said the departmental head.
