Biplab Kumar Sarkar, Joint Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, says Jamaat activists disguised as regular worshipers are trying to create unrest after police stopped worshipers during Friday prayers in Naya Paltan area.

Biplab, who came to the BNP headquarters on Friday to inspect the precautions being taken by law enforcers, said the police were on alert and would stick to their security measures.

He claimed that the police had not stopped any of the devotees from their Friday routine, but were trying to help them.

The police officer said that a group of 40-50 people tried to enter the cordoned off area while raising religious slogans.
