TCB (Trading Corporation of Bangladesh) declared that they will start selling onions in the market from Monday. Meanwhile, the price of onion has got higher. Local onion sells at Taka 70 to Taka 75 and Indian onion sells at a price of Taka 90 per Kg. In an effort to curb the market price TCB imported onions and sold at price of Taka 47 per Kg. But now the cost of import is higher. So TCB increased the price from Taka 47 to Taka 55. TCB has imported onions that will be sold from Monday. Newly produced onions may be available within several weeks. The price may be decreased then.
