Meanwhile, the police have arrested around 27 BNP leaders and workers from areas falling under seven police stations in the district.
Speaking in this regard, Narayanganj Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP, Crime) Chailou Marma said, “There have been some sporadic incidents around the 3-day blockade of BNP. Police have arrested around 27 people from the operations conducted in the last 24 hours. All those arrested are BNP leaders and workers. “They have been arrested in old and new sabotage cases.”
The ASP further said, “Police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) are conducting joint patrolling to ensure security on the highways. Apart from this, additional police have been deployed at important places in the city.
