Bangladesh bank has published ‘Financial Stability Report-2013’ on Sunday. This report reveals that electronic transaction has increased in the country. Half of the transactions were done using ATM machines mostly using credit cards and debit cards. Last year Taka 56,130 crore were transacted through debit card and Taka 30,776 crore were transacted through credit card.
Debit card holders use their deposited money on the other hand credit card holders use money allocated to them as a loan which they pay later with interest. 42 banks are providing online transactions that are consumers can use any branch to deposit or withdraw money. However, many branches of these 42 banks are not fully online.
