Bangladesh national museum which is situated Shahbag, will celebrate its 100th anniversary

on 2013; before that this museum along with some others will be digitalized. That means,

people will be able to see the valuable artifacts online.

A digital database is being prepared that will also ensure transparency and hence it will

reduce the risk of missing. Now the museums don’t have proper documentation this is why

sometimes the authority doesn’t notice if something is stolen.

In this digitization process digital photo of the artifacts and information on the artifacts

both in Bangla and English will be uploaded online. Photos from four different angles will

be available for some important artifacts.

This online archive may increase risk of stealing; the authority will introduce CCTV for all

the galleries to monitor continuously.

Online ticketing facility will also be introduced, so there will be no need to stand in

queue. Museum authority is negotiating with a phone company in this regard.

This online museum will launch on 2012 but a shorter version with 100 artifacts will be

online at the end of this year.

Artifacts of Ahsan Manjil Museum, Chittagong Zia memorial museum, Sylhet Osmani Museum and

Jainul Abedin Museum of Mymensingh will also go online.
