PM Hasina to address UNGA on Friday highlighting Rohingya, climate issues

Sheikh Hasina will address the UNGA session in Bengali for the 17th time, following in the footsteps of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who had delivered his address on September 25, 1974.

This year’s UNGA theme is: “Rebuilding trust and rekindling global solidarity: accelerating action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards peace, prosperity, progress and stability for all.”

The Prime Minister arrived in New York on September 17 to attend the 78th UNGA session and other high-level events.

She will leave for Washington from New York on 23 September where she will stay till 29 September. After concluding her visit to Washington in the United States, the Prime Minister will leave for London on September 29 where she will stay till October 3 and finally reach home on October 4.
