borderAnother Bangladeshi civilian was killed by the Indian border guards in Indian- Bangladesh border today. This incident took place on Nondail border in Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat.  The deceased Md Razu Ahmed was only twenty eight years old and he was a cattle trader. Ferocious Indian border guards opened fire when he went there to bring cattle from the border area.

Major Nasir Imam Rumi who is deputy assistant director of Border Guard Bangladesh battalion -3, has confirmed it to the media and Bangladesh Border Guard officials have already protested this to their Indian counterpart over telephone and asked for flag meeting but there was no positive move till the last report came in. Indian border guards have taken away the dead body of the deceased.

Though Indian border guards remain inactive to stop drug trafficking to Bangladesh but they are very active against cattle trading in India – Bangladesh border as cow is a holy animal according to Hindu belief. There is an internationally recognized procedure to handle illegal border crossing but it seems Indian border guards don’t think that should be followed in India – Bangladesh border.
