The new cabinet was sworn in on 11 January, following the 12th Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) elections (held on 7 January). Monnujan Sufiyan was not included in the cabinet. He did not even get the nomination of Awami League in the elections. However, she became a Member of Parliament of the Awami League, nominated from seats reserved for women. She is still living in government accommodation.

The government's housing department canceled the allotment of the bungalow to Monnujan Sufiyan on January 24. He was informed about the matter through a letter and asked to vacate the residence. This bungalow has been allotted to Land Minister Narayan Chandra Chanda.

Since Monnujan Sufiyan did not vacate the house, another letter was sent to him on March 21.

Speaking to Prothom Alo on mobile phone yesterday, Monday, Monnujan Sufiyan said that he has received a letter asking him to leave the house by March 30. She doesn't want to force herself to stop.

This former state minister said that it is a difficult task to move such a huge load of luggage to another place during the month of Ramzan and hence she will vacate the bungalow after Eid-ul-Fitr. She will inform the housing department about the matter.
