Poland investigates police headquarters blast amid reports police chief threw grenade

In a statement published on Thursday, a spokesman said it was investigating “an act involving the unintentional release of violent energy that endangers the life or health of a number of people or property”.

Three people, including Sizmek, were believed to be victims, the statement said, without giving details of possible injuries.

Polish media reported that the explosion damaged the roof of the building.

A police spokeswoman and a spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office both declined to comment further on the issue.

There was no response from Reuters’ request for comment from Ukraine’s SBU security service.
