Dhaka metropolitan police has conducted raid on several spa and salons of Gulshan area of the capital yeaterday. Following the tradition of East Asian countries like Thailand and Vietnam several spa and massage parlors have emerged in Gulshan, which is known as an aristocratic area of Dhaka. But there are allegations that these parlors have been offering some services like body to body massage, which is not accepted in this conservative country. Some massage centers even have been advertising with slogans like, ‘Our therapists are young and so hot’, ‘We have four new girls’. Solvent businessmen, officers and their young youngsters were main customers of these parlors. They spent hours with those so called ‘young and hot therapists’. It’s more or less like massage parlors of other East Asian countries.
Finally police raided several parlors including Lifestyle and Health Club, Resident Salon and Spa, and Mango Spa. They have arrested 19 people including 16 girls and 3 youths for antisocial activities. A police spokesman said they will continue their raid and now they are looking for owners of these parlors.
