Due to haphazard construction of buildings, students are facing various types of problems. Four years ago three residential halls for male students were constructed next to Shaheed Rafiq-Jabbar Hall and Maulana Bhashani Hall. However, erecting three buildings at the same site increased noise pollution levels rapidly.

Meanwhile, students of Shaheed Rafiq-Jabbar Hall erected a wall on the roads towards the newly constructed Sheikh Russell and Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed residential halls, citing security risks and noise pollution due to students' activities on the road. Students of three residential halls clashed among themselves over the demolition of the wall.

On the other hand, three new residential halls for female students have been built along the Dhaka-Aricha Highway. Students in these halls are facing a lot of trouble due to excessive noise from vehicles on the highway. They can hardly sleep or study due to excessive noise.
