The court has issued arrest warrants against the culprits as they were not present in the court on the day of the judgement, he said.
Lawyers and court sources have said that the police had filed a case under the Speedy Trial Act on 9 December 2012 at the Banani police station on charges of road obstruction.
After this, on December 19 of the same year, the police filed a charge sheet against 10 people including Rezwanul Haq. The court accepted the charge sheet on January 22, 2013 and framed charges against the accused.
Six witnesses were presented by the state in connection with the incident.
Speaking to Prothom Alo, JCD leaders’ lawyer Iltutmish Saudagar said they did not get justice from the trial court. They will go to the High Court against the decision.
