Rakibul and Rezaul used to work as masons at the house of Mohammad Abdullah, the owner of the food factory.
Mazharul Islam, chief of the Boliya police station, said that 1 million taka was allegedly stolen from Abdullah’s house on Thursday.
As the attackers suspected that Rezaul and Rakibul had stolen the money, they tied the workers to a pole and hit them with iron rods and sticks to extract a confession.
Police later raided the house and rescued the seriously injured workers. They took him to the hospital, where Rezaul was declared brought dead. Rakibul died during treatment.
