European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her recent election victory and re-appointment as Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
In a congratulatory letter, Layne said he looked forward to continuing to work with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to further strengthen relations between the EU and Bangladesh in the coming years.
“The EU remains committed to cooperating with Bangladesh on sustainable development, climate change, migration and other issues of common interest,” he wrote in the letter.
The European Commission chief said she is happy to meet PM Hasina in Brussels on the occasion of the Global Gateway Forum in 2023.
