Arif Ahmed, 24, of Jagannathpur area of ​​Bhairab Upazila in Kishoreganj, had left the country two years ago in search of fortune. He made a deal with local agents to emigrate to Italy at a cost of 1.2 million taka. However, he ended up in a prison camp in Libya where he was subjected to unbearable torture.

Later he was released from there after paying a ransom of 12 lakhs. Arif’s family paid a total of Taka 3,050,000 in a phased manner to get him out of jail. Now the family is financially broken.

This was disclosed by Arif’s elder brother Asad Miya on Monday from Pratham Aalo. After being released on Sunday, he spoke to his brother on the phone.
