Dhaka Range Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Syed Nurul Islam, after visiting the spot, said on Wednesday that the miscreants used oxy-acetylene to cut the railway line. Oxy-acetylene and LPG cylinders have been seized from the spot.
Today on Thursday, between 10:00 am and 11:00 am, when I went to the spot myself, I found a sign board with ’10’ written on it to control the speed, at a distance of about 300 meters from the spot.
During that time two trains passed through the accident site at very low speed. When trains are running, a railway employee is giving signals by waving a red banner. At least 50 railway employees worked on the damaged line. Engines and coaches of Mohanganj Express are scattered on both sides of the damaged railway line.
