Increase agricultural production and productivity with the Barind project

The Barind Multipurpose Development Authority (BMDA) will ensure irrigation of 3,490 hectares of agricultural areas using surface water in the drought-prone region with a target of producing 27,920 tonnes of crops annually, reports news agency BSS.

Required number of pumps, pontoons and pipelines will be installed at different points of nearby rivers including Padma, Mohnanda, Punarbhaba, Rani and Atrai rivers to transfer the river water to canals and further to the farming fields.
