Digital Bangladesh is on the way in Bangladesh. There has been a lot of debate about the definition of Digital Bangladesh. Some people thinks it may be a process of computerization of whole country. But the main fact is to have a faster country. As a part of fastening the work, Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) is going to launch online birth registration program aimed at making the city’s birth and death registration activities more effective and transparent.
The city corporation has started a training course for the
data entry operators for the first time here yesterday, where 30
persons are attending.
RCC Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, who opened the course as
chief guest at the seminar hall of Urban Primary Healthcare
Project, said the city corporation is going to transform its
service delivery activities digitalized.
As part of the government’s effort to build digital
Bangladesh, he said the corporation has been launching need-based
programs one after another to make the nationwide digitalization
process a total success.
He urged upon the trainees to acquire knowledge properly so
that the birth and death registration activities could be done
“We have earned fame in different national programs like
NID, nighttime garbage removal and tree plantation and want to
attain same success in this regard,” he added.
With RCC Ward Councilor Anwarul Azim in the chair, the
ceremony was addressed, among others, by Director of Birth Death
Registration Project AKM Saiful Islam Chowdhury, RCC Chief
Executive Officer Ajahar Ali and Chief Health Officer Dr Abul
