The nation is all set to observe ‘Amar Ekushi and International Mother Language Day’ on Tuesday to pay homage to the martyrs of the language movement who made the supreme sacrifice for the mother tongue on February 21, 1952.
The Ministry of Cultural Affairs presents the award with a gold medal, a certificate of honor and a check for Taka 400,000.
Earlier on February 12, the government had announced the names of 19 eminent citizens and two organizations for the ‘Ekushe Medal-2023’ for their outstanding contribution in the respective fields.
