Severe water crisis at Uttara in Dhaka

watercrisisThe inhabitants of Uttara in Dhaka city are in severe water supply crisis. Many families are unable to have bathing and are using bottled water for drinking. This is very expensive. The condition is severe in sector 13, especially in road number 11, 12,16,17,18 and 19. According to WASA there should be at least two deep tube-wells in the locality but there is only one to cover.

The inhabitants have to buy water from WASA  water tank vehicle that costs about Taka 600 to Taka 700 or more in some cases. Though WASA rate is Taka 500 per tank. Among two vehicles one is out of order and this is why the inhabitants are not getting water supply even by paying money.
