Unsolved train arson: Police transfer cases to special agencies

The police is still in the dark as to who set fire to two trains in Tejgaon and Gopibagh of the capital.

Almost two months have passed since the incident of setting fire in Mohanganj Express in Tejgaon and more than a month since the incident in Gopibagh.

However, no progress has been made in either case. The police have not been able to trace the arsonists. In such a situation, the cases are being transferred to two different agencies. Dhaka Railway Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Anwar Hossain confirmed this to Prothom Alo.

Earlier on December 19, miscreants had set fire to Mohanganj Express in the early morning, in which four people including a woman and her children were killed. And on 5 December, two days before the national elections, the Benapole Express was set on fire. Four people died in this incident.
