In the early hours of Friday, a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of the police picked up Mirza Fakhrul and Mirza Abbas from their homes in separate raids in the capital city.
He was later shown arrested in connection with the clash between police and party workers in Naya Paltan area of the capital.
A Dhaka court on Monday rejected the bail applications of 224 BNP leaders and workers, including Fakhrul and Abbas, and sent them to jail pending further legal proceedings.
