Four people were killed including three of a family in two separate road accidents in Gurudaspur and Baraigram upazila of Natore on Friday.
Three members of a family were killed in a head-on collision between a private car and a bus on Dhaka-Rajshahi highway in Gurudaspur upazila at about 1:00pm.
The deceased were identified as Rabiul Islam, 37, an engineer of Spark International Resource Ltd in Dhaka, his wife Tania Sarwar, 30, and their one-year-old son Tanzim Sarwar, of Pakpur village in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia.
Police and locals said the accident took place when a Dhaka-bound Skyline Paribahan bus from Kustia collided head-on with the Natore-bound car of the engineer at Talbaria area, killing three people on the spot.
Deen-e-Alam, officer-in-charge of Banpara Highway Police Station said police seized the bus but the driver and helper managed to flee the scene.
In another incident, a motorcyclist was killed and one person was injured on Natore-Pabna highway at Kadamchilan area in Baraigram upazila at about 1:30pm.
The deceased was identified as Ibrahim Hossain, 45, resident of Gunaihati village of the upazila.
Saiful Islam, in-charge of Banpara police camp, said the accident occurred when a Faridpur-bound Hazi Paribahan bus ran over a motorbike leaving two people seriously injured.
Ibrahim succumbed to his injuries on his way to Rajshahi Medical Collage and Hospital while seriously injured Amir Hossain, 55, was admitted to a local clinic.
