Hridoy performed consistently well in both the matches and gelled well with the top and middle order. He also scored runs at a good strike rate, showing promise of becoming the next big thing in Bangladesh cricket.
Both matches were interrupted due to rain before the deal with Bangladesh was finalized. While in the first game they were ahead as per DLS method, in the second match the hosts were two runs short as per DLS. Had the match not restarted, Bangladesh could have lost the second game despite chasing the target of only 139 runs.
Captain Nazamul Hossain Shanto credited his bowlers for making life easy for the batsmen by restricting Zimbabwe to modest scores in the first two matches. He wants the same performance from the bowlers and is also urging the batsmen to come with the conditions.
“First of all, the bowlers performed very well. But as I said we cannot control the rain, but it is not easy for the batsmen. We have to manage all those things.”
There are many areas in which we can improve (especially in batting), Shanto said after the second match.
