Talking about Saeed’s return to the country, Saeed’s lawyer Shahinoor Islam said, “He was present in the court during the hearing of his bail plea. However, I do not know how he returned to the country.
However, according to a source in the police and the Jubo League, Saeed returned to the country via India. He crossed the border illegally and entered the country surreptitiously. After this, he appealed for bail to the High Court on 30 January. The court had ordered him to surrender in the lower court. Subsequently, he appeared before the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Judge Court and appealed for bail in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission. He got bail in that case on the same day.
Casino Saeed made his first public appearance on 14 February after returning to the country. He suddenly appeared in the meeting of the Hockey Federation’s executive committee at Falcon Hall in Tejgaon area of the capital. He was received by the Federation President Chief Air Marshal Sheikh Abdul Hannan and other members of the committee.
