Lavrov said that Russia – amid its nearly 20-month-long Ukraine invasion – had “serious questions” about Western policy on Israel.
“They say (the fighting) should stop immediately, Israel should destroy the terrorists,” Lavrov said.
“But this was done before as well… and even after the situation calmed down they did not come to the fact that the main reason (for the conflict) needed to be eliminated,” he said.
“The Palestinian problem must not be delayed any longer.”
Lavrov previously said that Russia and the Arab League would work to “stop the bloodshed” in Israel and Gaza.
Meanwhile, Abul Gheit said he “condemns violence, but from all sides.”
