E-commerce business is booming during covid-19 pandemic

Online shopping concept

To prevent the present coronavirus pandemic Bangladesh government has declared general holiday form 26th March, which is extended till 30th May. Some restrictions are lifted recently, markets and shopping malls are opened. But consumers are still preferring online shopping to avoid coronavirus infection, which is an indication that people may continue to buy online in coming days.
In a joint online press briefing, commerce ministry and e-commerce association has informed that e-commerce sector is doing well amid this crisis period. But there are some issues to be addressed. Usually delivery guys use motorbikes. They attach a box to their bikes to carry delivery goods. But attaching these types of boxes is not legalized.
Consumers are mostly buying grocery items and medicines. Around eighty thousand families are taking online delivery service. Initially there was some hesitations. But now many of the customers are paying online in advance, hence they are trusting online platforms and minimizing coronavirus risk.
