“UNHCR, with governments and partners, is preparing for the possibility that more than 800,000 people may flee fighting in Sudan to neighboring countries,” the agency’s head, Filippo Grandi, said in a tweet.
“We hope it does not come to that, but if the violence does not stop, we will see more people forced to flee Sudan in search of safety.”
Such planning data does not mean that the UN necessarily expects to migrate in such numbers, but that it believes it is possible and is making plans to meet the larger need. being that may arise.
