According to Mohammad Shahidullah, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Ramna Zone, the Jamaat activists did not have permission to march and their procession was blocking the road.
Shahidullah said that these people were carrying Jamaat banners and when the police ordered them to stop the procession, they started pelting bricks and stones at the law enforcers.
Later, the police dispersed those people, while around five people were arrested.
