Omar Fuad said he was fined 20,000 takas along with 20 years in prison. If he fails to pay the fine, he will have to spend one more year in jail. Three other accused in the case were acquitted. They are Bulbul Ahmed, MD Sujan and Mahbubur Rahman.
According to the statement of case, the police conducted an operation on 23 March 2015 at a rented house in Akbar Shah area of Chattogram city and arrested Irsad Hussain and recovered explosives and bomb-making equipment. A case has been registered at Akbar Shah police station.
Later, the police launched another operation in the Karnaphuli area in late 2015 and arrested the remaining three, including Bulbul. He was also shown arrested in the case registered at Akbar Shah police station.
