Jordan summit ‘good opportunity’ for nuclear talks: Iran

0 minutes, 30 seconds Read

Iran’s foreign minister said on Monday that this week’s summit in Jordan would be a “good opportunity” for talks aimed at restoring the 2015 nuclear deal.

On-off talks to revive the deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), began in April last year directly between Iran and Britain, China, France, Germany and Russia, and indirectly between the United It started with the United States.

But indirect talks between Washington and Tehran mediated by the European Union have been stalled for months as Iran faces protests over the September 16 death in custody of 22-year-old Kurdish Iranian Mahsa Amini.
