New standardized Bangla font

Now using Bangla in computers and other equipments is much easier than before. Because, most of today’s computers and operating systems support Unicode Bangla. Many organizations have made Bangla Unicode font. But there is no standard Bangla font. These fonts have some problems for Bangla conjoined letters. These fonts do not have any approval from Bangla Academy. Bangla alphabets have some specific shapes and some rules for conjoined letters which must be followed.
The Bangladesh government has decided to make a standardized Unicode Bangla font.

The name of the standardized font will be ‘Amar Bornomala’. Bangla Academy will standardize and publicize the font, Graphics Design Department of Dhaka University will provide technical assistance and Access to Information Program of Prime Minister’s office will give financial support .
