Responding to a question on whether there were any concerns of conflict around the BNP rally on December 10, he said: “BNP has held several rallies in Dhaka in the last several months. We have also held rallies. You (reporters) have heard about those. Describing the news as false, it has been written – Rallies. There was no conflict. They held road marches, while AL took out peace rallies.”

AL has applied to the Election Commission for permission to organize a rally on December 10 on the occasion of World Human Rights Day and Quadr said there is no issue of counter rallies.

“World Human Rights Day will be celebrated on that day and this is our democratic right,” he said.
