Now a Russian company – Fors, a Ural-based firm that makes propellants for the energy industry – is offering cash payments to Russian soldiers who “capture or destroy” German-made Leopard 2 or US-made Abrams tanks Huh.
The company said it would pay five million rubles to the first Russian soldier to destroy one of the tanks and 500,000 rubles ($7,200) for all subsequent attacks.
Echoing language used by Russian officials and pro-war state TV hosts, Fores said NATO was pumping “unlimited” amounts of weapons into Ukraine and escalating the conflict. It also said it would offer a 15 million ruble ($215,000) bounty on Western-made fighters if they were ever delivered to Ukraine.
The tanks have not yet been sent to Kyiv, and the bulk of the promised deliveries could take several months.
