The government is going to build 20,000 new flats for low and middle income people in the capital. These flats will be done in the capital’s Uttara within the next five years.
It was approved by the ECNEC (Executive Committee of the National Economic Council) yesterday with the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
The sizes and prices of the apartments have not yet been fixed.
The project is going to be started in November of this year and is about to be completed by june 2016 with an estimated project cost of 9,031 crores.
Each building will be of 16 storeyed and will be at sector 18 of Uttara.
Initially the buyers will have to pay quarter part of the total amount and the rest in 96 months in installments.
