BTRC Deputy Director Sanjib Kumar Singh has been arrested by Dhanmandi police station on charges of rape, cheating and breach of privacy.
The charges pertain to a case where he is accused of having sex with a woman under false pretenses and secretly recording videos to harass her.
Authorities have revealed that explicit videos and images were retrieved from his mobile device.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhanmandi Police Station Parvez Islam told Prothom Alo that a woman has registered a case against Bangladesh Telecom Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Deputy Director Sanjib Kumar Singh under prevention of oppression of women and children. Act-2000 at Dhanmandi police station on last Friday. After this, Sanjib was arrested on the same day.
