Theater and film affairs department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy has arranged three day long film show to remember legendary actor Anwar Hossain in its theater hall at Dhaka from today. This show is open for all. The film Sirajuddoula on tragic Palashi war will be screened on first day of the film show. Show will start at 06:30pm.
Jamalpur was Anwar Hossain’s home district. Noted film director Amjad Hossain who is also from Jamalpur district will attend a gathering in remembrance of Anwar Hossain at Jamalpur press club today.
Anwar Hossain was born in 1931. Sirajuddoula was the film which made him celebrity in 1967. Bengali movie lovers still remember him for his outstanding acting in that film. He played nabab’s role in that film. He received Negar prize from Pakistan government for his performance in that film. Later her received many more awards including national film award and Ekushey Padak.
He died at the age of 82 last month.
