A fly over under construction in Chittagong is collapsed few hours ago. Three girders of the fly over collapsed on a busy road. Moreover there was a makeshift kitchen market. Police have confirmed death of two passersby. More people are trapped under the debris. The place is flooded by blood and water. Locals and police are working hard to rescue the survivors.
This incident has angered the locals. They are complaining that this construction project was going without taking proper safety precautions. This fly over could collapse after completion. This incident indicates that this project was going with defective plans and materials. This is not the first accident in this project. Two more accidents took place in this project before. Locals have started violent protest and reports of clash between locals and police are coming.
Protesters also vandalized construction materials and of the site. They also set fire there. Firemen rushed the scene to extinguish fire but protesters forced them to flee. Rapid Action Battalion personnel are deployed to calm the situation.
