Four killed in train accidents

Four people, including two students, were killed in separate train accidents in Brahmanbaria, Manikganj and Lalmonirhat on Monday and yesterday.

Our Brahmanbaria correspondent reports: Two students were killed under the wheels of two intercity trains in separate places in the district on Monday and yesterday.

The deceased were Limo Akter, 16, a HSC student of Kasba Women’s College and daughter of Shah Alam Mia, of Charnal village, and Ridoy Mia, 12, a student of class six of Akhaura Murga High School.

Limo Akter was killed when a Noakhali-bound Upakul Express train hit her while she was crossing the rail track on the way of her collage at Charnal village of Kasba upazila around 11:00am.

Ridoy Mia was crushed under the wheels of a Chittagong-bound Subarna Express train when he was returning home after completing his tuition class at Daroin village on Monday.

Our Manikganj correspondent adds: A youth was killed when he fell from the rooftop of a mail train after hitting the truss of Chanda rail bridge at Pangsha upazila in Rajbari on Monday.

The deceased was Rabiul Islam, 30, son of Dabir Uddin, of Tatirapa village of Porsha upazila in Naogaon.

Our Lalmonirhat correspondent says: A mentally challenged young man was killed when a train hit him while he was walking on the rail line in Mondolerhat area of Sadar upazila on Monday.

The deceased was Monser Ali,24, son of late Hamid Munsi, of Gokunda village of Sadar upazila.
