-A two-member delegation of ‘See-D’ Contest of Japan, comprising Emiko Onoki and Chiamin Lai, called on Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique today at the latter’s official residence on the campus.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest especially how to involve the students of Dhaka University with “See-D” programmes.
Emiko Onoki and Chiamin Lai apprised the vice-chancellor of the aims and objectives of “See-D” programmes in Bangladesh.
They said, “See-D” seeds ideas that can change the world. Japanese “See-D” has extended its supports and services to Bangladesh to make the lives of poor people better, they added.
They said most of the Bangladeshi people do not have accesses to safe drinking water, health services or basic tools to create sustainable livelihoods. Japanese engineers and designers have produced some right products for farmers, fishermen and poor people of Bangladesh, they noted.
The Vice-Chancellor thanked the team members for their visit to Dhaka University and assured them of providing all sorts of support and cooperation to make their “See-D” programmes a success.
