The committee included member secretary and deputy registrar of JNU Ranjan Kumar, members professor Abul Hussain, professor Mohammad Masood Billah and Johar Ahmed.
Later, the committee also visited Kotwali Model Police Station in Kamila and spoke to the investigating officer of the case which Abantika's mother had lodged against her for harassing her.
The committee also spoke to journalists about the progress of the investigation into Abantika's suicide at his Kamila residence on 15 March.
Convener Professor Zakir said, “We are investigating. We learned a lot by talking to Abantika's mother here. We will go to the police again and take their statement. Apart from this, we will also take statements from several other sources.”
