Human Rights and peace for Bangladesh (HRPB) prayed to the court to direct the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) chairman to file a criminal case against the individuals or companies, who will be found liable for the share market disaster after publishing the report.
The High Court may hear the petition tomorrow (Tuesday)
In the petition the petitioners requested the court to direct the government to seize the passports and bank accounts of the individuals or companies, who will be found liable in the publishing report, until full-fledged investigation is completed
They want directives from the HC on the government to recover the money and return it to the accounts of affected shareholders.
Earlier a committee was formed to probe the share market plunge; the committee submitted the report to the finance minister on April 7.
